Barbara Martinez Jitner is one of the first Latina executive producers of a primetime network television series, the Emmy nominated "American Family." She served as Executive Producer for the Jennifer Lopez film "Bordertown" which was based on Martinez Jitner's experiences posing as a factory worker on the U.S.-Mexico border in order to uncover a dark world of grueling poverty and sexual abuse in the town of Ciudad Juarez, where over 450 women were murdered.


The film "Bordertown" will also be screened on the day prior to this lecture, on February 21st at 7pm free of charge at The World Theater.
